HIMSS Asia Pacific Announces Program Partnerships with Singapore Nurses Association and Integrating the Health Enterprise for HIMSS AsiaPac17 Conference and Exhibition

Singapore (13 March 2017) – HIMSS Asia Pacific announced today that it will be joining forces with Singapore Nurses Association (SNA) and Integrating the Health Enterprise (IHE) to offer pre-conference and main conference programs for delegates at this year’s HIMSS AsiaPac17 Conference and Exhibition, 11 – 14 September, Marina Bay Sands Singapore.

“HIMSS Asia Pacific is delighted to partner the Singapore Nurses Association and Integrating the Health Enterprise to bring specialized content to HIMSS AsiaPac17. As hospital digitize globally, nurses need to elevate their competencies in health information technology to enhance their role as frontline carers and to improve patient care and management. IHE stands for secure and transparent interoperability, and will help us dissect this buzzword into an applicable concept. These strong joint professional development efforts will benefit our healthcare professionals and ultimately patients across this region”, said HIMSS Asia Pacific Executive Director Simon Lin.

SNA and its Nursing Informatics Chapter will provide guidance on the Nursing Informatics Competency Workshop (pre-conference) and the Nursing Symposium (main conference track).

“We are pleased to once again work with HIMSS Asia Pacific as a knowledge partner. Over the years, the conference has been a natural and inclusive platform to exchange information and ideas with our peers and others who are passionate about nursing and health informatics”, said Ms Ng Gaik Nai, Chairperson, Singapore Nurses Association – Nursing Informatics Chapter.

Alongside SNA’s workshop, IHE will hold its 3rd Annual IHE World Summit on the pre-conference day. The event will bring together healthcare IT users to address interoperability issues that impact clinical care through real-world scenarios.  Held alongside the HIMSS eHealth Week in Europe in June 2016, IHE is now partnering HIMSS’s Asia Pacific team to bring this high-impact event to Singapore.

“We look forward to welcoming for the first time in the Asian region delegates to Singapore, where we’ve prepared a deep insight into the IHE philosophy and methodology, proven by its successful implementation in real-world scenarios. Join an exclusive look behind the curtains of Asian and International eHealth programs, projects and activities. So make your plans and enjoy an unforgettable event”, said Jürgen Brandstätter, member of the IHE International Board and coordinator of the IHE World Summit event.

HIMSS AsiaPac17 is convened under the theme Team-Based Care: Unifying Patients and Providers.

The main conference will examine four areas: Population Health, Collaborative Care, Data and Technology and Value-Based Care, under the guidance of the organizing committee led by Adj. A/Prof. Gamaliel Tan, Chief Medical Informatics Officer, Jurong Health Services, Singapore.
